Do Pilates

I have trained with the Pilates Foundation, which sets the highest standards of teaching, is recognised by the NHS and has the longest training in the UK. During the 18-month course, I have done more than 1600 hours of study and continue to be dedicated to learning and professional development.

I discovered Pilates while being an office worker and suffering from RSI (repetitive strain injury) in my right arm and neck. I subsequently started a dance training at the Laban conservatoire and again became injured. At the Laban Pilates studio, I worked with several teachers to get to the root of my injuries. I learnt to feel inside where movement originates and to apply the work in my everyday life and my dance practice. I felt empowered through this technique and decided to become a teacher to pass this on to other people.

I am a great believer in the somatic approach: I find that exploring and deepening perceptions of the body while moving helps to recognise inefficient patterns and move beyond them. Once these new patterns are integrated in everyday life, you will find yourself in a state of alive relaxation, dynamic balance and self awareness. This will help you to go on to the next level and challenge yourself to find increasing strength and mobility.
